Reactions of Illnesses
What were some of the were some of the reactions of the Black death?
Everyone had different thoughts and there own opinion about the Plague or Black Death.
Some didn't react to it at all and then others had many thought on it. A lot of Medieval people reacted to it by loosing there close friends and family members by growing apart from them and going on there own to stay away from it. People tried to enjoy life as long as they could and pleasured as much as they could healthy and well. Moving away from the area was a struggle because some people had sick family and friends so they didn't want to leave them behind and so they stayed away from people who may have been sick or who was.
People tried to take medicine and pills to get rid of the plague or to help them not catch it. They also burned a bunch of substances that were told to purify the air and make it cleaner and make it have less germs. Fires were conman too burn old street corners or houses that were a threat of sickness to them. Some even "Plague-proofed" there homes by putting glazes up to cover there windows from the wind to get into there houses.
Sickness... Sickness... Sickness
Did medieval people know what a sickness was?
No one knew that organisms could get you sick or be sickened. They didn't know anything that strongly about the medical field. They didn't really even know what a disease was or how they got it. They believed that if you got sick then it was because of a punishment. The work of Demons was a belief and so was a work of witches. There knowledge on health was more based on mythology or superstitions than real. Some people even thought bad odors caused sickness.
They knew that sickness was a bad thing though and tried to stay far from it. It was just not the best place for people who lived way back then, Sometimes even living was dangerous or bad for Medieval people because there jobs were hard, like farming was dangerous for them because it was a difficult job and they had heavy work done by animals often.
Illnesses were horrible back then, I would have hated living in the Medieval Times and getting a disease, or sickness.

Healthy Middle ages.
Did medieval people try to stay healthy well?
Medieval people liked to be clean. A compliment to them were
getting called "fresh". They hoped to stay healthy. Soap was
luxury and manly only the rich had it. The poor had a rough time
to keep clean because all they had to clean them self with was
water or sap from wild plants. They had a healthy diet sometime,

and the poor diet was almost better than the rich. Balance of
treatments in the medieval time were good too. Cooling herbs

all health treatments. Although there doctors and
hospitals were not as good as our's, Doctors moved forward with
discovering new things about finding cures and making people happy and healthy.
The poor and the rich had diffrent houses and so, most likly the
poor got sick more often then the rich because the rich probably
had big houses and the poor had wore down apartment bulding.

The Killer Disease
What sickness killed the most people?
The sickness that killed the most people was called the Plague.
It was a bacteria that lived in peoples blood. It was said to be from
rats that scavenged ships and warehouses. The rats became the most
dangourus animal animal but then fleas wouls suck the rats blood and get it,
and soon most of the people started getting infected with this horrible infection.
Some people in the Medeieval time thought that costumes would
protect them from the infection. Some symptoms, not all but comman ones
were dark, swollen, painful lymph node.
Other symtoms were swelling of lungs and they got black and blue bumps.
There wasn't just the Plague, there was a sickness based on it called
the Bubonic Plauge which was basicly the same symptoms.
Although alot of people got sick with the Plague, the
facts are that only 33% of people got sick with the
Black Death.
